Subscription
WaypointCareer has four tiers tuned to career level: Free, Managerial (Manager/Director), Leadership (VP/SVP/GM), and Executive (C-suite/Board). Paid tiers raise caps and unlock brand + AI features; annual saves roughly two months. Checkout is handled by Stripe; switch or cancel any time from Settings → Subscription.
TL;DR — Buy the tier that matches the role you're aiming for; default to Leadership if you're between. Cancel anytime — your plan stays active until the period ends, then drops to Free.

AI coaching is included in every plan and runs on the platform's own provider keys — no personal API key required. Your tier gives a monthly allowance that resets at the start of each calendar month. Executive's AI caps are a large fair-use ceiling, not literally unlimited. "AI actions" is the unified meter for the smaller AI helpers (fit summaries, question drafting, mention categorisation, and similar).
Run out before the month resets? Buy a one-time usage credit pack from Settings → Subscription — available on every tier, including Free, without changing plans. Credits roll over and never expire; your monthly allowance is always spent first. You can also optionally add your own provider key under Settings → API Credentials for unmetered usage that doesn't count against your allowance.
Picking a tier
The simplest rule: buy the tier that matches the role you're aiming for. A VP role hunt isn't really helped by Managerial-tier caps; a Manager role hunt doesn't need Executive-tier features.
If you're between tiers, default to Leadership — it's the middle option, fits the most use cases, and is the tier we recommend most.
How billing works
- Monthly — billed every 30 days, cancel anytime via Stripe portal (Settings → Subscription → Manage billing).
- Annual — billed once a year, ~17% cheaper than 12 months of Monthly.
- Discount codes — apply on the checkout screen. Some codes are one-time, others recur for a fixed number of cycles.
Switching tiers
In Settings → Subscription, click Compare tiers to land on /pricing. Pick your new tier + cycle and check out. Existing subscriptions are pro-rated by Stripe.
You can downgrade or upgrade at any time. Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current period — you keep the higher tier's features until then.
Cancelling
Settings → Subscription → Manage billing opens the Stripe portal. From there you can cancel — your access continues to the end of the current period, then you drop to Free.
Cancelled and re-subscribed? Your data is preserved across the gap; you just lose access to the paid features while the Free caps apply.
Existing PRO subscribers (history)
Before April 2026, the platform shipped with a single paid tier called PRO. When the three-tier model launched, every PRO subscriber was migrated to Leadership (the middle tier — the fairest default; nobody lost access). If you were on PRO and want a different tier, switch any time from Settings → Subscription.
Discount codes
Got a launch promo or partner code? Enter it on the checkout screen. Codes show:
- The discount (percentage or fixed dollar amount)
- Whether it's one-time or recurring
- Which billing periods it applies to
If a code doesn't show, it's expired or maxed-out — try another or ask whoever shared it.
Free → paid: what changes immediately
The moment you check out, the new caps and feature flags apply. You don't lose any data when upgrading or downgrading — only the read access changes.
