Reports
Reports (/reports) is your analytics surface — career-growth trends, pipeline conversion, networking health, source/keyword performance, and top companies across six sub-tabs. Use it as a weekly retrospective, not a real-time dashboard.
TL;DR — Each tab has its own
?tab=URL and refetches on switch, so the numbers are always current. Start with Career Growth (goal hit-rate + self-eval trajectory) and Pipeline (conversion + where roles stall).
The page has these sub-tabs in the top sub-nav: Career Growth ·
Pipeline · Networking Health · Keyword Heatmap · Top Companies
(plus Source Performance, which is admin-only). Each has its own
URL via ?tab=, so deep links
- refresh stay on the same tab. Switching tabs refetches the underlying data so you always see current numbers, not a stale snapshot from page load.
Quick start
- Open Reports from the sidebar
- Skim the tabs once to see what's there
- Bookmark the URL of the tab you check most often (probably Career Growth) so you can reopen mid-session
- Pick a weekly cadence — 15 minutes every Sunday afternoon — and commit to revisiting
The reports don't generate insights on their own. They surface data; you do the interpretation. The Tips section on each tab calls out what's worth attending to.
Career Growth tab
The default tab. Rebuilt around the question executives actually ask: what's compounding, and what's not? Three sections, all calendar-aligned (the window selector at the top of Reports doesn't apply to this tab — the periods used here are fixed at this quarter, last 4 quarters, last 12 months, last 24 months).
This quarter — scorecard
A row-per-cadence read-out of what shipped this quarter:
- Applications submitted (X / Y)
- Search firms touched — count of search firms whose last-contacted date fell in the quarter
- Senior contacts touched — same idea, for the networking list
- Self-evaluations completed
- Brand artifacts shipped — ThoughtLeadershipPitches with ACCEPTED / PUBLISHED status this quarter, plus MediaMentions (Brand surface is Leadership+; Outcomes are Executive only; locked rows show a tag instead of a count)
- Reading notes added
- Active goals on track — count of active goals whose progress is ahead of the elapsed share of their period
Targets come from a matching active Goal if one exists for the metric; otherwise we fall back to a default for your career status (see Settings → Profile). Rows with no goal show a small "default" hint — set a goal to customize the target.
Longitudinal moat — 12-month lens
Seven cards designed for what compounds across a year, not a week:
- Brand publishing streak — consecutive months with ≥1 brand artifact shipped (Leadership+)
- Network freshness — % of contacts touched in the last 90 days, plus a 12-month trend sparkline
- Pipeline conversion — Applied → Interview and Interview → Offer rates, last 4 quarters
- Self-eval delta — average overall score, latest 3-eval cohort vs prior 3-eval cohort. Surfaces "Building…" until you have 4+
- Reading depth — books finished in 12 months + average notes per book (synthesis, not just consumption)
- Pitch velocity — average days from pitch submission to acceptance, last 12 months (Leadership+)
- Outcomes per quarter — counts of MediaMentions per quarter (Executive only)
Brand-tier surfaces fall back to an "Upgrade" tag instead of data when the user is on a lower tier.
Year-over-year compare
Side-by-side table: this 12 mo vs last 12 mo for top-line counts (applications, interviews, new contacts, books finished, self-evaluations, brand artifacts). Δ column shows raw + % change. Until your account is 12+ months old, this section shows a Building… placeholder.
Goals history
The familiar goals last-12-periods card sits at the bottom of the tab as the source-of-truth view on per-goal hit / miss.
Pipeline tab
Combines the velocity stats with the kanban board (merged from the old separate "Pipeline Velocity" + "Job Pipeline" tabs). The velocity panels sit at the top:
- Activity in window — jobs added, applied, interviews, offers, rejections
- Conversion rates — response rate, interview → offer, apply → offer
- Pipeline funnel — current snapshot of where every relevant job sits
- Time-in-stage — how long jobs sit in each bucket (Pro)
The kanban board renders below — drag cards between columns to change status. Watch the conversion rates more than the raw counts: applying to 50 jobs/week with 0 → Interviewing conversion is worse than applying to 5/week with 40% conversion. See Pipeline & Velocity for the full detail.
Networking Health tab
Freshness of your contacts + search firms — how many are fresh (< 30 days since last touch), moderate (30–90), stale (90+), or never contacted, plus how many you added in the selected window.
Source Performance · Keyword Heatmap · Top Companies tabs
Three job-sourcing analytics tabs (Pro):
- Source Performance (admin-only) — per job-board added → applied → interview → offer counts + applied-rate, so you can see which sources actually convert. This tab is restricted to administrators and is hidden from regular subscribers.
- Keyword Heatmap — how many in-window jobs each active keyword / location pulled in, plus your exclusion list. Tells you which keywords are doing the work.
- Top Companies — companies by total in-window jobs, with a funnel breakdown, plus a favorites-only slice. A favorite at zero open roles for >30 days is a hiring-freeze signal.
CSV export
The Pro tier gets a Export CSV button on every tab that exports the underlying data behind the chart. Free tier doesn't (but every chart is on-screen so the inspection isn't hidden).
Tips
- Don't open Reports daily. It's noise at that frequency. Once a week is the sweet spot.
- Pair Career Growth with Self Reflection. Open Career Growth the day before doing a new self-reflection — it gives you data to ground the self-scoring in, instead of vibes.
- Track the Pipeline tab weekly during an active search. The conversion rates over a rolling window are the most honest signal of whether your pace is sustainable.
