Courses

Courses (/enablement/courses, in the Continuous Learning group) is where you track the online courses you want to take, are taking, and have finished — each tagged to the growth areas it builds — and where you get course suggestions aimed at your weakest Self Reflection domains. [Paid] — Courses is available on the Managerial, Leadership, and Executive tiers; it does not appear on the Free plan.

TL;DR — Track a course (pick a provider from the directory or free-text your own), tag the growth areas it strengthens, and set a status (Want to take → In progress → Completed). The suggestions panel up top recommends catalog courses for your gap domains, with an optional Get AI ideas button — click Track on any suggestion to add it.

Quick start

  1. Open Continuous Learning → Courses (or /enablement/courses)
  2. Click Track a course
  3. Enter a title (required) and pick a provider from the directory — or choose Other (not listed)… and type the provider name
  4. Optionally tag the growth areas it strengthens, add the course URL, instructor, estimated hours, rating, tags, and a certificate URL
  5. Set a status (Want to take / In progress / Completed) and save

Tracking your courses

Each course is a card showing its title, provider, the growth-area tags, a status badge, and (when set) your rating, estimated hours, a certificate link, and an "open" link to the course page. Filter the grid by status with the selector at the top right. Edit or remove any course from its card.

| Status | Meaning | |---|---| | Want to take | On your list, not started | | In progress | Currently taking it | | Completed | Finished |

Providers come from an admin-curated directory (Coursera, edX, LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, Harvard Business School Online, and many more). If a provider isn't listed, free-text it — your entry is preserved, and an admin can promote it to the directory later.

Recommended for your growth areas

The panel at the top of the page recommends courses for the domains where your most recent Self Reflection scored lowest:

  1. Each gap domain shows a chip and a set of catalog course cards curated by the WaypointCareer team.
  2. Click Track on any card to add it to your courses, pre-filled — confirm or tweak the details, then save. Catalog courses you already track are filtered out so you don't see duplicates.
  3. Click Get AI ideas to have AI suggest additional courses for your gap domains (requires a usable AI provider; this uses your AI action allowance). AI suggestions also have a Track button.

If you haven't completed a Self Reflection yet, the panel prompts you to do one — Start a Self Reflection — so the suggestions have something to target.

How suggestions are chosen

  • Catalog first. For each weak domain, active catalog courses tagged with that domain are shown, ranked to match your target level first.
  • AI on demand. "Get AI ideas" adds display-only AI suggestions for your gap domains; nothing is saved until you click Track, which creates a custom course.
  • Graceful by design. No completed Self Reflection, no AI provider, or a Free plan each degrade cleanly — tracking always works; the AI affordance simply hides when it can't run.

Tips

  • Tag growth areas honestly. The domains you tag on a course (and the domains you score low in Self Reflection) are what drive the suggestions — keep both current.
  • Completing a course is a signal. Marking a course Completed feeds your Continuous Learning activity; revisit Self Reflection afterwards to see the domain move.
  • Use free-text freely. A provider not in the directory never blocks you — type it and keep going.
