Weekly Career Brief

Every Monday, the Brief page (/brief) gathers what changed across your jobs, contacts, Self Reflection, brand and market signals into one screen, and names three to five things to do this week. It's the first page you see after signing in, on every plan.

TL;DR — Open Brief at the top of the left navigation. Read where you stand, work through the week's actions, and mark each one Done or Dismiss. The same brief arrives by email on Monday morning.

When a brief is built

  • A new brief is built each Monday morning, in your own time zone. The week runs Monday to Sunday.
  • If you open the Brief page and there's no brief for this week yet, for example in your first week, one is built when you open it. That first build can take a few seconds.
  • A brief is a snapshot. Jobs, contacts or reflections you add later in the week appear in next week's brief, not this one. Only the status of the actions changes.

What's in it

  1. Summary. When you have AI available (allowance left on your plan, or your own API key), one AI call writes a short summary of your week and rewords the actions. It counts as one AI action. Without AI, the brief still appears, with the actions in plain wording and no summary.
  2. This week. Three to five recommended actions, each linking to the page where you do it. Fixed rules choose them and put them in order; the AI never adds, removes or reorders an action.
  3. Sections, built from data you already have:
    • Readiness: your readiness percentage for the level your latest Self Reflection was scored against.
    • Weakest domain: your lowest-scoring domains from that Self Reflection, the same ones the Career Stage Roadmap shows.
    • New-fit roles: high-fit jobs added in the last 7 days. Not shown if your career status is "not looking".
    • Contacts going cold: contacts you haven't reached in 30 days or more, or never.
    • Brand gaps: the next moves from your Brand page. A move your plan doesn't include shows a plan tag and is never one of the week's actions. Not shown on Free.
    • Market changes: market signals from the last 7 days for your industries and locations, and how many new headlines Indicators → News has for you.

A section with nothing in it yet shows one line saying how to fill it, such as taking your first Self Reflection. Free shows each section in short form; paid plans show the full lists.

Work through the actions

  • Select Done when you've done an action, or Dismiss if it doesn't apply this week. Each changed action shows its status and an Undo button.
  • The top of the page shows how many of the week's actions are done.
  • Your choices are saved and are still there when you come back.

Earlier briefs

Earlier briefs lists your past weeks, newest first. Open one to read it as it was built; Back to this week returns to the current brief.

The Monday email

The brief also arrives by email on Monday morning, with the summary, each section's headline, the actions and a link to the Brief page. It's on by default. Turn it off under Settings → Notifications → Weekly Career Brief email; your brief still appears in the app. See Email & Notifications.

A brief built because you opened the page (rather than on Monday morning) isn't emailed. Confidential jobs are never named in the email.
