Career Stage Roadmap

The Career Stage Roadmap (/reflection/roadmap, the "Stage roadmap" tab under Reflection) shows what each career level asks of you, domain by domain, and where your Self Reflection scores stand against the level you were scored on. It is on every plan, including Free.

TL;DR — Pick a level on the ladder to read what it asks in each leadership domain. On the level your latest Self Reflection was scored against, each domain also shows your most recent score, and any score of 3.0 or below is marked as a gap with a link to set a goal.

Quick start

  1. Open Reflection from the sidebar, then the Stage roadmap tab
  2. The page opens on your target level (set in Settings → Profile)
  3. Select any other level on the ladder to see what it asks
  4. On your scored level, look for the rows marked Gap and select Set a goal

The ladder

The ladder lists the levels from Manager to Board, lowest first. Your target level is marked Your target, and the levels below it are filled in. Each level shows how many leadership domains it is assessed on: 7 at Manager, rising to 15 from SVP up.

Board is listed as Coming soon. Its Self Reflection questions aren't ready yet, so it has no card.

What a level card shows

Three lines about the level:

| Line | What it tells you | |---|---| | You own | The scope you are responsible for at this level | | You're measured on | What counts as doing the job well | | Common stall | The habit that most often holds people at the level below |

One row per domain. Each row gives one sentence on what the level expects in that domain. A domain that isn't assessed at the level below is tagged New at that level. For example, Innovation and External Orientation first appear at VP.

Your scores

Scores come from your completed Self Reflections. Each reflection covers 5 focus categories, so each domain shows your most recent score for it. After a few reflections, every domain has one.

  • Where they show. Only on the level your latest reflection was scored against, using your reflections at that level. A 4 against Director anchors doesn't mean a 4 against VP anchors, so other levels show no scores and say which level your scores belong to.
  • Gaps. A score of 3.0 or below is marked Gap. Each gap links to Goals and, on paid plans, to Courses.
  • Not assessed. A domain none of your reflections at that level has covered yet shows Not assessed.

Where you stand

The panel beside the level card sums up your latest reflection:

  • your readiness percentage and date, from your latest reflection
  • how many of the scored domains are gaps
  • your three lowest scores
  • a next step that names the lowest one

If you have no completed reflection, the panel links to Self Reflection. If you have no target level, it links to Settings → Profile.

If you changed your target level after your last reflection, the panel says so. Your scores stay on the level they were scored against until you run a new reflection.
